They recounted the loss of life and the financial burden that they, and the countries contributing to the expanded ECOMOG, have endured and the strenuous efforts they have made to assist the Liberian parties to reach a lasting solution to their conflict.

37. In its resolution 1001 (1995), the Security Council urged the Liberian parties to make serious and substantial progress towards the implementation of the Akosombo and Accra agreements.
٣٧ - حث مجلس اﻷمن، في قراره ١٠٠١ )١٩٩٥( اﻷطراف الليبرية على إحراز تقدم جاد وكبير نحو تنفيذ اتفاقي أكوسومبو وأكرا.

In its resolution 985 (1995), the Security Council, inter alia, urged the Liberian parties to implement the Akosombo agreement (S/1994/1174, annex) and Accra agreement (S/1995/7, annexes I and II) by re-establishing an effective cease-fire, promptly installing the Council of State and taking concrete steps towards the implementation of the other provisions of the agreements.

10. Urges the Liberian parties to finalize the composition of the Elections Commission so that it can promptly undertake the necessary preparations for legislative and presidential elections by March 1994, at the latest, in accordance with the timetable foreseen in the Peace Agreement;
١٠ - يحث اﻷطراف الليبرية على الانتهاء من تشكيل لجنة الانتخابات بحيث يتسنى لها أن تتخذ فورا الاستعدادات اللازمة ﻹجراء الانتخابات التشريعية والرئاسية في موعد أقصاه اذار/مارس ١٩٩٤ طبقا للجدول الزمني المتوخى في اتفاق السلم؛

20. The Chairman of ECOWAS convened a meeting of the factions at Abuja from 16 to 19 August, which culminated in the signing by the Liberian parties of an agreement 3/ amending and supplementing the Cotonou and Akosombo Agreements, as subsequently clarified by the Accra Agreement.
٢٠ - وفي الفترة من ١٦ الى ١٩ آب/أغسطس عقد رئيس الجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب افريقيا اجتماعا للفصائل في أبوجا، توج بتوقيع اﻷطراف الليبرية على اتفاق )S/1995/742، المرفق( معدلا ومكملا لاتفاقي كوتونو واكوسومبو الموضحين فيما بعد باتفاق أكرا.
