52/27. Agreement concerning the Relationship between the United Nations and the International Seabed Authority
٥٢/٢٧ - اتفاق بشأن العلاقة بين اﻷمم المتحدة والسلطة الدولية لقاع البحار

IN WITNESS THEREOF the undersigned, being duly authorized representatives of the United Nations and the International Seabed Authority, have signed the present agreement.
وإثباتا لذلك، قام الموقعان أدناه، ممثلا اﻷمم المتحدة والسلطة الدولية لقاع البحار، المخولان حسب اﻷصول، بتوقيع هذا الاتفاق.

The text of the Agreement, which is attached to the draft resolution, by and large follows the lines drawn in the Agreement concerning the Relationship between the United Nations and the International Seabed Authority.
ونص الاتفاق، المرفــق بمشروع القرار، يتماشى عمومـا مع المبادئ الواردة في الاتفاق فيما يتعلق بالعلاقات بين اﻷمم المتحدة والسلطة الدولية لقاع البحار.

Croatia welcomes the entry into force of the Relationship Agreement between the United Nations and the International Seabed Authority, as well as the conclusion of the Agreement on Cooperation and Relationship between the United Nations and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.
وترحب كرواتيا ببدء سريان اتفاق العلاقة بين اﻷمم المتحدة والسلطة الدولية لقاع البحار، وبإبرام الاتفاق الخاص بالتعاون والعلاقة بين اﻷمم المتحدة والمحكمة الدولية لقانون البحار.

13. It is recalled that the relationship agreement between the United Nations and the International Seabed Authority was signed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority on 14 March 1997 in New York.
١٣ - مما يذكر أن اﻷمين العام لﻷمم المتحدة وأمين عام السلطة الدولية لقاع البحار كانا قد وقعا على اتفاق العلاقة بين اﻷمم المتحدة والسلطة الدولية لقاع البحار في ١٤ آذار/ مارس ١٩٩٧ في نيويورك.

4. Pursuant to paragraph 7 of General Assembly resolution 51/34, I herewith submit to the Assembly for its approval the Agreement concerning the Relationship between the United Nations and the International Seabed Authority, which is attached to the present note.
٤ - وعملا بالفقرة ٧ من قرار الجمعية العامة ٥١/٣٤، أقدم إلى الجمعية العامة، التماسا لموافقتها، اتفاق العلاقة بين اﻷمم المتحدة والسلطة الدولية لقاع البحار، المرفق بهذه المذكرة.

Finally, countries from our region endorse the adoption of draft resolution A/52/L.27 approving the Agreement concerning the Relationship between the United Nations and the International Seabed Authority.

We are pleased to co-sponsor the omnibus draft resolution on the law of the sea, as well as the draft resolution on the Agreement concerning the Relationship between the United Nations and the International Seabed Authority and on the question of the Seabed Authority participating in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund. The last matter is of course still subject to the consideration of the Fifth Committee.

The signing on 14 March 1997 of the Agreement concerning the Relationship between the United Nations and the International Seabed Authority is a sign of the Authority's willingness to strengthen its cooperation with the United Nations and its Member States.
إن التوقيع على الاتفاق المتعلق بالعلاقة بين اﻷمم المتحدة والسلطة الدولية لقاع البحار في ١٤ آذار/ مارس ١٩٩٧ علامة على رغبة السلطة في تعزيز تعاونها مع اﻷمم المتحدة والدول اﻷعضاء بها.
