The Charter of the United Nations and General Assembly resolution 45/253 acknowledged the aims and priorities of the Organization.
ولقد سلم ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة وقرار الجمعية العامة ٤٥/٢٥٣ بأهداف المنظمة وأولوياتها.

2. Reaffirms the inalienable right of the people of those Territories to self-determination and independence in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV), containing the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples;
٢ - تؤكد من جديد حق شعوب تلك اﻷقاليم غير القابل للتصرف في تقرير المصير والاستقلال وفقا لميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة وقرار الجمعية العامة ١٥١٤ )د-١٥( المتضمن إعلان منح الاستقلال للبلدان والشعوب المستعمرة؛

" Reaffirms the right of the peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories to self-determination in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV), containing the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples " ;

1 - تؤكد من جديد ما لشعوب تلك الأقاليم من حق غير قابل للتصرف في تقرير المصير، عملا بميثاق الأمم المتحدة وقرار الجمعية العامة 1514 (د-15) المتضمن إعلان منح الاستقلال للبلدان والشعوب المستعمرة؛

2. Reaffirms the inalienable right of the peoples of the Territories to self-determination, including, if they so wish, independence, in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV), containing the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples;
٢ - تؤكد من جديد حق شعوب تلك اﻷقاليم غير القابل للتصرف في تقرير المصير بما في ذلك الاستقلال، إن كان ذلك ما تريده، وفقا لميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة وقرار الجمعية العامة ١٥١٤ )د - ١٥( المتضمن إعلان منح الاستقلال للبلدان والشعوب المستعمرة؛

Inclusion of item 159 would be tantamount to the dismemberment of China and would seriously violate both the purpose and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and General Assembly resolution 2758 (XXVI).
وقال إن ادراج البند ١٥٩ سيكون بمثابة تقطيع ﻷوصال الصين كما يشكل انتهاكا خطيرا لمقاصد ومبادئ ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة وقرار الجمعية العامة ٢٧٥٨ )د - ٢٦(.

" 11. Requests the Secretary-General to continue, through all means at his disposal, to inform world public opinion of any activity that affects the exercise of the right of the peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories to self-determination in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV);
" ١١ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يواصل، عن طريق جميع الوسائل المتاحة له، إبلاغ الرأي العام العالمي بأي أنشطة تؤثر على ممارسة شعوب اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي لحقها في تقرير المصير تمشيا مع ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة وقرار الجمعية العامة ١٥١٤ )د - ١٥(؛

11. Requests the Secretary-General to continue, through all means at his disposal, to inform world public opinion of any activity that affects the exercise of the right of the peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories to self-determination in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV);
١١ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يواصل، عن طريق جميع الوسائل المتاحة له، إبلاغ الرأي العام العالمي بأي أنشطة تؤثر على ممارسة شعوب اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي لحقها في تقرير المصير تمشيا مع ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة وقرار الجمعية العامة ١٥١٤ )د - ١٥(؛

35. Mr. Giorgio (Eritrea) reiterated his delegation's adherence to a " one-China " policy, which was consistent with the Charter of the United Nations and with General Assembly resolution 2758 (XXVI). It was therefore against the inclusion of the item in the agenda.
