On 16 January, the Security Council heard a briefing by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa, Said Djinnit, and met in closed consultations to consider the six-month report of the Secretary-General on the activities of the United Nations Office for West Africa (S/2011/811).

Furthermore, the Conference requested the Secretariat to inform the working group on the activities of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, including on its coordinating role for the Inter-Agency Cooperation Group against Trafficking in Persons, and, together with the secretariats of relevant international and regional organizations, to promote and support implementation of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol.

Summary The present report on the activities of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime during 2008 outlines the links between, on the one hand, drug control, crime prevention, terrorism prevention and criminal justice and, on the other, the rule of law, development, security and peace.
يقدّم هذا التقرير المتعلق بأنشطة مكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدرات والجريمة (المكتب) أثناء عام 2008 عرضاً موجزاً للصلات بين مراقبة المخدرات ومنع الجريمة ومنع الإرهاب والعدالة الجنائية، من ناحية، وسيادة القانون والتنمية والأمن والسَّلام، من ناحية أخرى.

(q) Requested the Secretariat to inform the working group on the activities of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, including on its coordinating role for the Inter-Agency Cooperation Group against Trafficking in Persons and on coordination carried out with the secretariats of relevant international and regional organizations to promote and support implementation of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol;

6. In its recommendations on programme questions, CPC had advocated changes to expected accomplishments and indicators of achievement for human settlements and for the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women), and a change to the narrative relating to the activities of the United Nations Office to the African Union.
