14 - وصرح الأمين العام بأن السلطة ستواصل العمل مع الأوساط العلمية الدولية والمتعاقدين من أجل تحديد مسائل تكون موضوعا للتعاون الدولي.

While it was acknowledged that the Authority has no regulatory functions with respect to marine scientific research as such, the Assembly noted that the Authority has an important role to play with respect to promoting and encouraging marine scientific research in the Area.

٢ - تسلﱢم اﻷمم المتحدة بأن السلطة تعمل، بمقتضى الاتفاقية والاتفاق، بوصفها منظمة دولية مستقلة في إطار علاقة العمل مع اﻷمم المتحدة التي يحددها هذا الاتفاق.

2. The United Nations recognizes that the Authority, by virtue of the Convention and the Agreement, shall function as an autonomous international organization in the working relationship with the United Nations established by this Agreement.
٢ - تعترف اﻷمم المتحدة بأن السلطة تعمل، بمقتضى أحكام الاتفاقية، بوصفها منظمة دولية مستقلة في إطار علاقة العمل مع اﻷمم المتحدة التي يحددها هذا الاتفاق.

Recalling the programme of work of the Authority during 2005 and 2007, the Secretary-General of the Authority informed the Assembly that the Authority would further its efforts to promote international collaboration in marine scientific research related to activities in the Area.

In response to a request for clarification, the Secretary-General reminded the Assembly that the Authority was not connected in any way whatsoever with the work of the International Oceans Institute, a non-governmental organization, nor did the Authority sponsor or endorse any of the seminars conducted by that organization.
7 - وردا على طلب بتقديم إيضاح، ذكّر الأمين العام الجمعية بأن السلطة ليس لها صلة بأي حال من الأحوال بعمل المعهد الدولي للمحيطات، وهو منظمة غير حكومية، كما أن السلطة لا ترعى أو تؤيد أي من الحلقات الدراسية التي تعقدها تلك المنظمة.
