In its resolution 52/81 of 12 December 1997, the Assembly recognized that the basic objective of the follow-up should be to strengthen and support families in performing their societal and developmental functions and to build upon their strengths, in particular at the national and local levels.
وفي قرارها ٢٥/٨١ المؤرخ ١٢ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٧، سلﱠمت الجمعية العامة بأن الهدف اﻷساسي للمتابعة ينبغي أن يكون تعزيز ودعم اﻷسرة في أداء مهامها الاجتماعية واﻹنمائية، وتعزيز مواطن قوتها، ولا سيما على الصعيدين الوطني والمحلي.

26. Mr. LALLIOT (France) said it was important to recall that the basic objective for awarding contracts was to ensure continuity of public services and equality of users. It seemed appropriate to include a reference to the need for confidentiality and the right to challenge or recourse in paragraph 10.
