In conclusion, allow me to remind the Assembly that Romania associated itself with the position expressed by His Excellency Mr. Wim Kok, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, on behalf of the European Union.
وختاما، اسمحوا لي أن أذكﱢر الجمعية بأن رومانيا أيدت الموقف الذي أعرب عنه فخامة السيد ويم كوك، رئيس وزراء هولندا، بالنيابة عن الاتحاد اﻷوروبي.

I will therefore limit myself to restating only that Romania strongly supports the proposal that, as a minimum, one additional elected seat should be afforded the Eastern European regional group.
لذا، فإنني سأكتفي بالتذكير بأن رومانيا تؤيد بقوة الاقتراح الداعي إلى منح المجموعة الإقليمية لأوروبا الشرقية مقعدا إضافيا منتخبا على الأقل.

The State party submits that the claim that Romania had information that should have led to the conclusion that there was a real risk of a violation of his rights remains unproven and a mere hypothesis.
وتؤكد الدولة الطرف أن الادعاء الذي يفيد بأن رومانيا كانت حائزة لمعلومات كان ينبغي أن تدلها على استنتاج وجود خطر حقيقي متمثل في انتهاك حقوق صاحب البلاغ لم يُثبَت بأدلة ولا يعدو أن يكون مجرّد تخمين.

Before doing so, I should like to remind you that Romania was one of the pioneers of the forum that we today proudly call the Conference on Disarmament.

Convention No. 111: In its 2005 Observation, the Committee noted with interest that Romania had continued to enact legislation to prohibit discrimination and promote equality in employment and occupation, including the following:

I am pleased to remind members that Romania, despite its current economic and financial difficulties, has increased its voluntary contribution to UNFPA for 1995 by 30 per cent, thus clearly demonstrating the importance the Romanian Government attaches to UNFPA and to the implementation of the Cairo Programme of Action.
ويسرني أن أذكر اﻷعضاء بأن رومانيا زادت تبرعاتها للصندوق لعام ١٩٩٥ بنسبة ٣٠ في المائة على الرغم مما تواجهه حاليا من صعوبات اقتصادية ومالية، مما يدلل بوضوح على اﻷهمية التــي تعلقها الحكومة الرومانية على الصندوق وعلـــى تنفيذ برنامج عمل القاهرة.

I am proud that Romania was able, together with the 14 colleagues in the Security Council, to spearhead, as Chairman of 1540 Committee, global efforts against the worst-case security scenario, that of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) or related materials and technology falling into terrorists' hands.
وإنني فخور بأن رومانيا إلى جانب الزملاء الـ 14 في مجلس الأمن، تصدرت، بوصفها رئيسا للجنة، القرار 1540، الجهود العالمية الرامية إلى مواجهة أسوأ سيناريو أمني، وهو وقوع أسلحة الدمار الشامل، أو المواد والتقنية ذات الصلة في أيدي إرهابيين.

The Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and has the honour, with reference to the Secretary-General's note of 13 September 2002, to communicate that Romania has nominated Ion Diaconu as its candidate for election as a judge of the International Criminal Court.
تهدي البعثة الدائمة لرومانيا لدى الأمم المتحدة تحياتها إلى الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، وبالإحالة إلى مذكرة الأمين العام المؤرخة 13 أيلول/سبتمبر 2002، يشرفها إبلاغه بأن رومانيا قد سمت أون دايكونو مرشحا لها للانتخاب كقاض في المحكمة الجنائية الدولية.

7. The delegation highlighted the importance for Romania of the protection of the culture and identity of persons belonging to national minorities, and indicated that Romania had ratified the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities and the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages.
7- وأبرز الوفد أهمية حماية ثقافة أفراد الأقليات الوطنية وهويتهم بالنسبة إلى رومانيا، وأفاد بأن رومانيا صدقت على الاتفاقية الإطارية لحماية الأقليات الوطنية وعلى الميثاق الأوروبي للغات الإقليمية أو لغات الأقليات.

73. UNHCR stated that Romania did not have any procedure in place to determine statelessness, which undermines its ability to meet its protection obligations towards stateless persons in its territory as set out in the 1954 Convention.
73- وأفادت مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين بأن رومانيا تفتقر إلى إجراء لتحديد حالات انعدام الجنسية، وهو ما يقوض قدرتها على الوفاء بالتزاماتها في مجال الحماية، وفقاً لاتفاقية عام 1954، تجاه الأشخاص عديمي الجنسي الموجودين في إقليمها.

Furthermore, the State party submits that Romania became a member of the European Union in January 2007 and as such its citizens, including the author and his family, can travel without restriction throughout other European Union countries.
