وإذ تشير إلى القلق البالغ الذي أعرب عنه في مؤتمر الأطراف في معاهدة عدم انتشار الأسلحة النووية لاستعراض المعاهدة في عام 2010 إزاء ما يترتب على استعمال الأسلحة النووية بأي شكل من الأشكال من آثار وخيمة في الحالة الإنسانية وإلى تصميم الأطراف على السعي إلى إيجاد عالم أكثر أمنا للجميع وإحلال السلام والأمن بإخلاء العالم من الأسلحة النووية(

وتعنى هذه المبادرات بإخلاء العالم من الأسلحة النووية وتطرح طائفة من النُهُج والحلول السياسية من أجل تحقيق هذا الهدف.

A successful outcome to the 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the NPT is crucial for the strengthening of the nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation regime and will signal to the international community that the States parties, in particular the nuclear-weapon States, are committed to a world free of nuclear weapons.
ونجاح المؤتمر الاستعراضي لعام 2010 لأطراف معاهدة عدم الانتشار أمر حاسم لتعزيز نظام نزع السلاح وعدم الانتشار النوويين وسيبعث برسالة إلى المجتمع الدولي مفادها أن الدول الأطراف، ولا سيما الدول الحائزة للأسلحة النووية، ملتزمة بإخلاء العالم من الأسلحة النووية.
