This report summarizes the outcome of the discussions of the CGE with regard to the implementation of its mandate relating to the provision of technical assistance to non-Annex I Parties for the preparation of their national communications.

The SBI, having considered this report, may wish to provide further guidance to the CGE on the implementation of its mandate, especially concerning the activities identified for implementation in 2011, to address the needs of non-Annex I Parties relating to the preparation of their national communications.

(b) To invite Parties and multilateral agencies in a position to do so to provide financial and/or technical assistance for the implementation of the work programme of the CGE in 2012 and to invite multilateral and bilateral programmes to collaborate with the CGE in the provision of financial and/or technical support to non-Annex I Parties for the preparation of their national communications.

As most nonAnnex I Parties are expected to be in the process of preparing their national communications within the next two years (2007 - 2008), it is important to put in place a training strategy to assist experts to complete their work within the timetable contained in decision 8/CP.11 on the submission of second and, where appropriate, third national communications.
6- ونظراً لتوقع قيام غالبية الأطراف غير المدرجة في المرفق الأول بإعداد بلاغاتها الوطنية خلال السنتين القادمتين (2007-2008)، فمن المهم وضع استراتيجية تدريب لمساعدة الخبراء على استكمال عملهم في غضون الجدول الزمني الوارد في المقرر 8/م أ-11 بشأن تقديم البلاغات الوطنية الثانية، وعند الاقتضاء، البلاغات الوطنية الثالثة.
