I particularly welcome the Doha Declaration of 30 November 2004, which reaffirmed international commitments to the family, including United Nations resolutions and declarations, and called upon all Governments, international organizations and members of civil society to take effective measures to support the family in times of peace and in times of war.

Finally, my delegation would like to congratulate Qatar, for having hosted the Doha International Conference for the Family. That was a successful conference -- as a regional and international preparatory conference to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the International Year of the Family -- and was crowned by the adoption of the Doha Declaration, which advances the humanitarian mission of protecting and building families beneficial to society.
ويود وفد بلادي، في الختام، أن يعبِّر عن تهانيه لحكومة دولة قطر على استضافتها لمؤتمر هام، هو مؤتمر الدوحة الدولي حول الأسرة، وعلى نجاح هذا المؤتمر الذي انعقد في سياق التحضيرات الإقليمية والدولية للاحتفال بالذكرى السنوية العاشرة للسنة الدولية للأسرة، وتوج بإعلان الدوحة حول الأسرة، وهو الإعلان الذي تضمَّن رسالة المؤتمر الإنسانية لحماية وبناء أسرة ناهضة للمجتمع.
