She noted with satisfaction that the Commission had decided to develop a corporate insolvency regime in the form of a legislative guide rather than a model law, in view of the difficulties associated with that topic at the international level involving sensitive and potentially divergent socio-political choices.

Mr. Andrews (United States of America), referring to the Commission’s work on international liability for injurious consequences, noted with satisfaction that the Commission had rapidly developed and approved on first reading a set of 17 articles on preventing transboundary damage from hazardous activities, which drew significantly on the new United Nations Convention on the Law of the Non-Navigational Uses of International Watercourses.

22. His delegation noted with appreciation that the Commission had requested the Secretariat to prepare first draft chapters of a legislative guide to BOT projects.
٢٢ - وقال إن وفده يلاحظ بارتياح أن اللجنة قد طلبت من اﻷمانة العامة أن تعد مشاريع الفصول اﻷولى لدليل تشريع بشأن مشاريع البناء والتشغيل والنقل.

In this regard, the Expert notes with appreciation that the Commission has accepted the need for a national consultation process, based on broad participation at both the central and the local levels in order to establish the legitimacy of the Commission and to strengthen its legal framework, that takes into consideration the demands and expectations of Ivorians.
