24- وتوصي اللجنة الدولة الطرف بأن تضع برنامجاً مناسباً وتنفذه وتذيعه في وسائل الإعلام للاحتفال بعام 2011 باعتبارها السنة الدولية للمنحدرين من أصل أفريقي، وفقما أعلنته الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والستين (القرار 64/169 المؤرخ 18 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2009).

29. ACC agreed to: (a) ensure, through the utilization of existing mechanisms, the preparation of a system-wide media and public information strategy for the year 2000 as the International Year for the Culture of Peace; and (b) ensure continuous exchange of information, on a system-wide basis, on activities to be undertaken in follow-up to the decisions of the General Assembly on the draft declaration and programme of action.
٢٩ - واتفقت لجنة التنسيق اﻹدارية على ما يلي: )أ( كفالة إعداد استراتيجية إعلامية على نطاق المنظومـــة بشــــأن سنة ٢٠٠٠ باعتبارها السنة الدولية لثقافة السلام، وذلك بالاستفادة باﻵليات القائمة؛ و )ب( كفالة التبادل المستمر للمعلومات، على صعيد المنظومة، عن اﻷنشطة التي سيضطلع بها لمتابعة مقررات الجمعية العامة بشأن مشروع اﻹعلان وبرنامج العمل.

24. Ms. Chenoweth (Director, FAO Liaison Office with the United Nations), introducing the note by the Secretary-General on the International Year of Mountains, 2002 (A/58/134), said that thanks to a proposal by Kyrgyzstan, with the strong support of several members of the Economic and Social Council, the General Assembly had proclaimed 2002 as the International Year of Mountains.
