This indicates that the legislation of most but not all respondents reflected the requirements of the Protocol to treat trafficking in persons as a serious crime with corresponding penalties.

8. The Special Rapporteur on Torture, in his preliminary recommendations following his 2010 visit, urged the Government to amend domestic legislation to include torture as a serious crime with adequate penalties.
8- وحث المقرر الخاص المعني بمسألة التعذيب الحكومة، في التوصيات الأولية التي أصدرها عقب زيارة قام بها في عام 2010، على تعديل التشريعات المحلية لتشمل التعذيب باعتباره جريمة خطيرة ولتنص على عقوبات مناسبة.

This article is related to the new Federal Law against organized crime which, in its article 2 (V), refers to trafficking in minors as a serious crime when it is carried out by members who are involved in organized crime and proscribes nine years of imprisonment.

According to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, trafficking must be investigated, prosecuted and dealt with as a serious crime, committed in a framework of organized crime.
44 - طبقا لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية، وبروتوكول منع وقمع ومعاقبة الاتجار بالأشخاص، الذي يكمل اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية، ينبغي الاضطلاع بالتحقيقات والمقاضاة والمعالجة بشأن الاتجار غير المشروع باعتباره جريمة خطيرة مرتكبة في إطار من الجريمة المنظمة.

(a) United Nations entities will work together, at both the headquarters and the country level, to encourage States to ratify the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (General Assembly resolution 55/25, annex I), including urging States to consider treating trafficking in flora and fauna as a serious crime under the Convention;
