وقد تبنينا دعوة لاقتصادي نيكاراغوي بارز، اليجاندرو مارتينيز كوينشا، من أجل مبادرة من طراز خطة مارشال لعدد من بلدان أمريكا الوسطى التي تأثرت باﻹعصار ميتش.

It is fundamental to build on experiences such as the joint disaster response and recovery mission, OCHA, undertaken in all countries affected by hurricane Mitch, by OCHA, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund and the World Health Organization.

16. The overall objective of the UNDP/United Nations Emergency/Rehabilitation Programme was to support the Government of the Dominican Republic in the implementation of a successful transition process from the initial emergency situation to an integrated and sustainable development programme benefiting the most vulnerable groups affected by the hurricane.
١٦ - الهدف العام لبرنامج الطوارئ/اﻹصلاح الذي يضطلع به برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي/اﻷمم المتحدة هو تقديم الدعم لحكومة الجمهورية الدومينيكية في تنفيذ عملية انتقال ناجحة من حالة الطوارئ اﻷولية إلى برنامج للتنمية المتكاملة والمستدامة يعود بالفائدة على أضعف الفئات المتضررة باﻹعصار.

17. 75. Mr. Pérez (Dominican Republic) expressed his thanks for the assistance his country had received from the international community to alleviate the effects of Hurricane George, and asked the speakers what action the various United Nations humanitarian programmes had taken to assist the countries affected by the hurricane.

104. Lastly, in response to the question posed by the representative of the Dominican Republic, she clarified that each programme had taken specific assistance measures in the countries affected by hurricane George.

59. To assess the strengths and weaknesses of these efforts, a joint OCHA-UNDP-UNICEF and World Health Organization/Pan American Health Organization (WHO/PAHO) Disaster Response and Recovery Mission was undertaken in all countries affected by hurricane Mitch.
٩٥ - وبغية تقييم قوة وضعف هذه الجهود جرى تشكيل بعثة الاستجابة للكوارث واﻹشفاء، مشتركة من مكتب منسق الشؤون اﻹنسانية وبرنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي ومنظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للطفولة )اليونيسيف( ومنظمة الصحة العالمية ومنظمة البلدان اﻷمريكية للصحة، للعمل في جميع البلدان التي تأثرت باﻹعصار ميتش.
