Mr. Balarezo (Peru) (spoke in Spanish): I am speaking on behalf of the 19 member States of the Rio Group, namely, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, and my own country.

24. Mr. Balarezo (Peru), speaking on behalf of the Rio Group, said that the Rio Group subscribed entirely to the outcome of the twentieth special session of the General Assembly and of the round-table discussion held during the ministerial segment of the session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs.

Mr. Balarezo (Peru) said he agreed with the representative of Uruguay that the title " Shared natural resources " was not sufficiently specific to define the focus of work on that topic; the Commission should examine only legal issues relating to resources which extended across or through the territories of more than one State.
