The Panel noted and welcomed further input from the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity with respect to forest biological diversity.
وأحاط علما بالمدخلات فيما يتعلق بالتنوع البيولوجي للغابات التي أسهم بها مؤتمر اﻷطراف في اتفاقية التنوع البيولوجي، ورحب بتقديم المزيد منها.

It also invited the members of the Partnership to support the implementation of the programme of work on forest biological diversity, recognizing that the Partnership provided a mechanism for enhancing collaboration on activities addressing common goals of the Convention and the Forum.

45. With respect to forests, the Conference of the Parties urged Parties, Governments and organizations to advance the implementation of the programme of work for forest biological diversity (previously described in the annex to document A/53/451).

15. The Conference of the Parties adopted an expanded programme of work on forest biological diversity, which constitutes a comprehensive set of goals, objectives and activities required to achieve the three objectives of the Convention as they relate to forest biological diversity (decision VI/22).
15 - واعتمد مؤتمر الأطراف برنامج عمل موسعا بشأن التنوع البيولوجي للغابات، يشكل مجموعة من الأهداف والغايات والأنشطة الشاملة اللازمة لتحقيق الأهداف الثلاثة للاتفاقية فيما يتعلق بالتنوع البيولوجي للغابات (المقرر 6/22).

(d) The Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity at its sixth meeting invite the member bodies of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests to support the implementation of the programme of work on forest biological diversity, recognizing the shared objectives of Convention and the United Nations Forum on Forests;

This will involve a study comparing the ecosystem approach and sustainable forest management; a report addressing the management, sustainable use and benefit-sharing of forest biological diversity; and an assessment of the relationship between IPF/IFF proposals for action and activities of the expanded programme of work on forest biological diversity.

41. An important component identified at the fourth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention in the work programme of the Conference of the Parties on forest biological diversity (decision IV/7) relates to further research on assessing ecological landscape models, the integration of protected areas in the ecosystem approach to sustainable forest management and the representativeness and adequacy of protected area networks.
٤١ - ويتصل أحد العناصر المهمة التي حُددت في الاجتماع الرابع لمؤتمر اﻷطراف في الاتفاقية، في برنامج عمل المؤتمر المتعلق بالتنوع البيولوجي للغابات )المقرر ٤/٧(، بإجراء مزيد من البحوث بشأن تقييم نماذج المسطحات اﻹيكولوجية، وإدماج المناطق المحمية في نهج النظام اﻹيكولوجي إزاء اﻹدارة المستدامة للغابات، ومدى تمثيل وكفاية شبكات المناطق المحمية.

The Convention on Biological Diversity has included outcomes from the IPF/IFF on traditional forest-related knowledge and indigenous people in its work on implementing article 8 (j) of the Convention and in the implementation of its programme of work for forest biological diversity.

It also took note of the decisions of the Conference of the Parties at its fifth meeting relating to forest biodiversity and marine and coastal biodiversity, particularly coral reefs, and their links to the Framework Convention.
