23 - تهيب بالدول الأعضاء ومنظومة الأمم المتحدة وسائر أصحاب المصلحة المعنيين دعم الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى التصدي على وجه السرعة لأزمات الغذاء التي تشهدها حاليا أفريقيا بأسرها، وتعرب عن بالغ قلقها من أن نقص التمويل يجبر برنامج الأغذية العالمي على خفض عملياته في مختلف المناطق، بما فيها الجنوب الأفريقي؛

The Committee, while welcoming the State party's statement that it will amend the provisions of the Child Act 2001 (Act 611) which provide for caning of male children, expresses its deep concern that caning is still a lawful penal sanction provided by the Child Act and that it is also used as a disciplinary measure in penal institutions.
510- إذ ترحب اللجنة ببيان الدولة الطرف الذي يفيد بأنها سوف تعـدل أحكـام قانـون الطفل لعام 2001 (القانون رقم 611)، الذي ينص على معاقبة الأطفال الذكور بضربهم بالخيزران، فإنها تعرب عـن بالغ قلقها من أن الضرب بالخيزران لا يزال عقوبة جزائية شرعية ينص عليها القانون المذكور، ومن أنه يُطبق أيضاً كتدبير تأديبي في المؤسسات الإصلاحية.

38. The States parties express serious concern that the development of new types of nuclear weapons are being considered by one nuclear-weapons State, and reiterated that the provision for the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons against non-nuclear-weapon States is in contravention of the security assurances provided by the nuclear-weapons States.
38 - وتعرب الدول الأطراف عن بالغ قلقها من أن إحدى الدول الحائزة للأسلحة النووية تفكر في استحداث أنواع جديدة من الأسلحة النووية. وتؤكد هذه الدول من جديد أن القصد إلى استعمال الأسلحة النووية أو التهديد باستعمالها ضد الدول غير الحائزة لهذه الأسلحة أمر يخالف الضمانات الأمنية المقدمة من الدول الحائزة للأسلحة النووية.
