Accordingly, we stress that Iraq should implement Security Council resolutions relating to Kuwait and should officially recognize Kuwait's sovereignty and release all Kuwaiti and other prisoners of war and detainees.
وبناء على ذلك فإننا نؤكد على ضرورة تطبيق العراق لقرارات مجلس اﻷمن المتعلقة بدولة الكويت والاعتراف الموثق بسيادتها، والافراج عن اﻷسرى والمحتجزين من الكويتيين ورعايا الدول اﻷخرى.

In keeping with that commitment, Syria supports the resumption of dialogue between Iraq and the Secretary-General with the objective of reaching a political solution that meets the requirements of the Security Council and that grants Iraq hope of peace, security and the lifting of the sanctions imposed on it, especially as Iraq has officially recognized the State of Kuwait and its international borders.
وحرصا على هذا الالتزام، تدعم سوريا استئناف الحوار بين العراق والأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، بغية التوصل إلى حل سياسي يلبي متطلبات مجلس الأمن ويعطي الأمل للعراق بالأمن والسلم ورفع العقوبات المفروضة عنه، لا سيما وأنه اعترف رسميا بدولة الكويت وحدودها الدولية.
