111. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the National Council for Child Welfare and Qatar on children working in camel racing in Qatar.
111- تم توقيع مذكرة تفاهم بين المجلس القومي لرعاية الطفولة وقطر الخيرية بشأن الأطفال العاملين في سباق الهجن بدولة قطر.

1. The competent authorities of the State of Qatar are pleased to submit the following report of Qatar to the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1540 (2004):
يسر الجهات المختصة بدولة قطر أن تقدم التقرير الأول إلى لجنة الأمم المتحدة المنشأة عملا بالقرار 1540 (2004):

There are many such schools in the State of Qatar, including Egyptian, Lebanese, Jordanian, Indian, Pakistani, Iranian and English schools, etc.

A number of recently promulgated legislative enactments have attempted to simplify the procedures under which foreigners working in the State of Qatar can be joined by their families in order to strengthen and promote family unification, as already mentioned.
كما صدرت عدة تشريعات حديثة حاولت تبسيط إجراءات استقدام أسر العاملين من الأجانب بدولة قطر وذلك تدعيما وتشجيعاً للم شمل الأسرة على نحو ما سبق ذكره.

12. Support the establishment of a regional human rights centre in the State of Qatar to support and promote human rights in the Arab world.
12- دعم إنشاء مركز إقليمي لحقوق الإنسان بدولة قطر لدعم وتعزيز حقوق الإنسان في العالم العربي.

At the twenty-fifth meeting of Foreign Ministers of the OIC, which was convened at Doha in the State of Qatar from 15 to 19 March 1998, the Secretary-General of the United Nations was represented by his Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi.
وفي الاجتماع الخامس والعشرين لوزراء خارجيــة منظمة المؤتمر اﻹســلامي، الذي عُقد بالـــدوحة بدولة قطر في آذار/ مارس ١٩٩٨، مثل اﻷمين العام المبعوث الخاص المعني بأفغانستان السيد اﻷخضر اﻹبراهيمي.

Consequently, the Constitution guarantees all persons residing in the State of Qatar the right to lodge complaints with the competent authorities should their guaranteed rights be violated.

41. The committee submitted the report to the Coordinating Committee of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, a body which liaises with private associations and institutions, including all non-governmental organizations in the State of Qatar.
41- وحرصت اللجنة على عرض التقرير على اللجنة التنسيقية بين الجمعيات والمؤسسات الخاصة التابعة للمجلس الأعلى لشؤون الأسرة، والتي تضم جميع المنظمات غير الحكومية العاملة بدولة قطر.

(c) The educational institutions in the State of Qatar are attended by large numbers of immigrant students, mainly from Asia and Africa, some of whom have been awarded scholarships while others have been allocated places under the quota system.
(ج) تضم المؤسسات التعليمية بدولة قطر أعداداً كبيرة من الطلاب الوافدين، من قارتي آسيا وأفريقيا أساساً، سواء أكانوا مقيدين على منح دراسية أو يدرسون وفق نظام المقاعد.

The press and information media in the State of Qatar take every opportunity to expose and deplore crimes of racial discrimination. Numerous programmes to commemorate international days are broadcast and published by radio, television, the press and other media.
68- وأجهزة الصحافة والإعلام بدولة قطر تندد في كل مناسبة بالتمييز العنصري وتفضح جرائمه، وتضع كثيراً من البرامج في إطار الاحتفالات بالأيام الدولية وتذيعها على الملأ من خلال الإذاعة والتلفاز والصحافة وغيرها.

The Ministry of Education is endeavouring to disseminate the concepts of peace, tolerance and friendship among peoples. To this end, under the auspices of UNESCO, schools in the State of Qatar organized a peoples' cultural festival in the academic year 1995/96.
135- وفي إطار حرص وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي على نشر مفاهيم السلام والتسامح والصداقة بين الشعوب، قامت المدارس المنتسبة لليونسكو بدولة قطر بتنظيم مهرجان ثقافات الشعوب في العام الدراسي 1995/1996.

35. The Committee submits a quarterly report to the Cabinet on the situation of human rights in the State of Qatar setting out a review of legislation and the situation of human rights, together with a summary of the Committee's activities and its recommendations. A special section of the report is devoted to children's rights.
35- تقوم اللجنة بتقديم تقرير دوري كل ثلاثة أشهر إلى مجلس الوزراء، يتناول أوضاع حقوق الإنسان بدولة قطر ويتضمن دراسة التشريعات وأوضاع حقوق الإنسان ونشاطات اللجنة و توصياتها، ويفرد التقرير جزءاً خاصاً لحقوق الطفل.

169. The number of students with disabilities registered in the country's 10 learning centres for persons with disabilities in Qatar is 5,886, of whom 2,231 are female and 3,655 are male.
169- بلغ عدد الطلبة المعاقين المسجلين بالمراكز التعليمية لذوي الإعاقة بدولة قطر 886 5 طالباً وطالبة، يمثل الإناث 231 2 طالبة، والذكور 655 3 طالباً، هذا ويبلغ عدد المراكز التعليمية عشرة مراكز.

217. With regard to raising primary school enrolment and attendance rates and offering educational opportunities to boys and girls, the primary school stage in Qatar offers six years of education to children beginning at the age of 6. There are some special schools which enrol 5year-olds in the first primary grade.
217- وفي مجال رفع معدلات القيد والحضور في المدارس الابتدائية وتوفير فرص التعليم للجنسين، فإن الدراسة بالمرحلة الابتدائية بدولة قطر تمتد لمدة ست سنوات ويقبل بها الأطفال الذين تبلغ أعمارهم ست سنوات، وهناك بعض المدارس الخاصة التي تقبل من بلغوا الخامسة من عمرهم في الصف الأول الابتدائي.
