The meeting is convened by UNEP in collaboration with the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme and the Stockholm Environment Institute and is hosted by the Government of India with financial support from the Swedish International Development Agency.

Taking note of decision 9.3.5 taken by the Governing Council of the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme at its tenth meeting,
وإذ يحيط علماً بالمقرر 9-3-5 الذي اتخذه مجلس إدارة برنامج البيئة التعاوني لجنوب آسيا خلال اجتماعه العاشر،

Invites the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme to update the proposal in the light of the outcome of these consultations and of new information provided in relation to the outstanding issues identified by the Secretariat in the original review of the proposal;

The ninth meeting of the Governing Council of the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP) was held in Thimphu, Bhutan, from 24 to 26 August 2005.

Additional work has been undertaken to support activities related to the conservation, management and sustainable use of coral reefs and related resources in South Asia, in collaboration with the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme and other partners in the region.

The Working Group took note of the information provided by the Secretariat but was unable to support the proposal for the establishment of a regional centre for South Asia under the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme at the current time.
39 - أحاط الفريق العامل علماً بالمعلومات المقدمة من الأمانة، ولكن لم يكن بوسعه أن يؤيد الاقتراح بشأن إنشاء مركز إقليمي لجنوب آسيا في إطار برنامج البيئة التعاوني لجنوب آسيا في الوقت الراهن.

It had before it notes by the Secretariat on a proposal for the establishment of a regional centre for South Asia under the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (UNEP/CHW/OEWG/7/5 and UNEP/CHW/OEWG/7/INF/5).
