DESD continued to cooperate with the Department of Political Affairs on the United Nations Educational and Training Programme for Southern Africa (UNETPSA).
١٢١ - وواصلت اﻹدارة تعاونها مع إدارة الشؤون السياسية بشأن تنفيذ برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي.

On the basis of the recommendation of the Chairman of the Special Committee against Apartheid, it is estimated that a remaining balance of $22,065, after application of an operating reserve, will be transferred to UNETPSA.
وبناء علـى توصيــة رئيس اللجنــة الخاصــة لمناهضة الفصل العنصري، من المقدر تحويل رصيد متبقي قدره ٠٦٥ ٢٢ دولارا، بعد خصم احتياطي تشغيلي، إلى برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي.

Requests for information and applications received from South African students were forwarded for consideration to UNETPSA, as well as to the offering Governments.

(i) In Japan, UNETPSA continued to sponsor one new South African at the United Nations Centre for Regional Development in Nagoya for high-level post-graduate studies;

I would also like to express, again on behalf of the Advisory Committee, our gratitude for the persistent efforts of, and the valuable assistance given to the Programme by, the Secretary-General and the UNETPSA staff.

64. The Department continued to cooperate with the Department of Political Affairs of the Secretariat in the implementation of the United Nations Educational and Training Programme for Southern Africa (UNETPSA).
٦٤ - وواصلت اﻹدارة التعاون مع إدارة الشؤون السياسية باﻷمانة العامة في تنفيذ برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي.

There has been an increase in demand for assistance from the programmes under UNETPSA and the Trust Fund for South Africa in the educational, legal and humanitarian areas, which will be carried out within the resources made available.
وقد حدثت زيادة في طلب الحصول على المساعدة من البرامج المندرجة في اطار برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي وصندوق اﻷمم المتحدة الاستئماني لجنوب افريقيا، في المجالات التعليمية والقانونية واﻹنسانية، ستنفذ في حدود الموارد المتاحة.

Bristol University was also requested to submit to UNETPSA a proposal to upgrade the management skills of senior officials from the offices of bursars, registrars and rectors of each of the historically Black universities.
وطلب أيضا من جامعة بريستول أن تقدم إلى برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي اقتراحا لرفع مستوى المهارات اﻹدارية لدى كبار المسؤولين في مكاتب أمناء الصندوق وأمناء السجل ورؤساء الجامعات في كل من الجامعات التي درجت على توفير التعليم للسود.

7. Under the terms of General Assembly resolution 48/160 of 20 December 1993, UNETPSA is expected to continue for a number of years in spite of the establishment of a united, democratic and non-racial South Africa and would be included in the annual United Nations Pledging Conference for Development Activities.
٧ - وبموجب أحكام قرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/١٦٠ المؤرخ ٢٠ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٣، ينتظر أن يستمر برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي لعدد من السنوات، رغم اقامة جنوب افريقيا موحدة وديمقراطية وغير عنصرية، وأن يدرج ضمن مؤتمر اﻷمم المتحدة السنوي ﻹعلان التبرعات لﻷنشطة الانمائية.

8. The Department for Development Support and Management Services, which until now has been entrusted with operational responsibility for UNETPSA, has been given overall responsibility for the Programme.
٨ - وقد أسندت المسؤولية العامة عن برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي الى إدارة الدعم الانمائي والخدمات اﻹدارية، التي كانت منوطة حتى اﻵن بالمسؤولية التنفيذية عن البرنامج.

I am pleased to report that UNETPSA will continue to give priority to providing educational and training opportunities inside South Africa and that $2.4 million has been allocated in the work plan for 1993-1994 for this purpose.
ويسرني أن أعلمكم أن برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي سيستمر في إيلاء اﻷولوية لتوفير فرص تعليمية وتدريبية داخل جنوب افريقيا، وإنه قد تم تخصيص ٢,٤ ملايين دولارا في خطة العمل للفترة ١٩٩٣-١٩٩٤ لهذا الغرض.

13. The Committee noted with satisfaction the decision to transfer the administration of the Programme to the Department for Development Support and Management Services and the transfer of the balance of funds from the United Nations Trust Fund for South Africa to UNETPSA.
١٣ - ولاحظت اللجنة بارتياح القرار الصادر بنقل إدارة البرنامج الى ادارة خدمات الدعم والادارة من أجل التنمية ونقل رصيد اﻷموال من صندوق اﻷمم المتحدة الاستئماني لجنوب افريقيا الى برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي.

The balance available in the Trust Fund ($644,735 on 31 October 1994) will be transferred to UNETPSA.
٤٩ - وسيحول الرصيد المتوفر في الصندوق الاستئماني )٧٣٥ ٦٤٤ دولارا في ٣١ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٤( إلى برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة التعليمي والتدريبي للجنوب الافريقي.
