Assistance was provided to the Consultative Group of Experts (CGE) on national communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention, including coordination and organization of three meetings and four regional workshops.

(a) The CGE has proven to be capable of developing training materials and conducting training workshops on national communications and BURs from non-Annex I Parties; however, this may not be feasible for all subjects within its mandate;

19. At the 1st meeting, the Chair invited Mr. Kamel Djemouai (Algeria), Chair of the Consultative Group of Experts on national communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE), to report on the progress of the work of the CGE.
