His delegation would present a draft resolution on the rights of indigenous peoples, emphasizing the Secretary-General's May 2014 final report on the Second International Decade of the World's Indigenous People and progress on the MDGs, which would contribute to the development agenda beyond 2015.

Mr. Errázuriz (Chile) said that the report of the Secretary General on the Second International Decade of the World's Indigenous People (A/67/273) showed that despite the progress made since the approval of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, such peoples remained the most economically and socially disadvantaged group.
65 - السيد إرازوريز (شيلي): قال إن تقرير الأمين العام بشأن العقد الدولي الثاني للشعوب الأصلية في العالم (A/67/273) يوضح أنه على الرغم من التقدم الذي تحقق منذ الموافقة على إعلان الأمم المتحدة بشأن حقوق الشعوب الأصلية فإن هذه الشعوب ما زالت هي أكثر الفئات المحرومة اقتصاديا واجتماعيا.

He therefore welcomed the report of the Secretary-General on the Second International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism (A/60/71) and stressed that it was the duty of the international community, the administering Powers and the United Nations system, in particular the Special Committee, to bring the process of decolonization to a successful conclusion.
ولذلك فإنه يرحب بتقرير الأمين العام بشأن العقد الدولي الثاني للقضاء على الاستعمار (A/60/71) وشدد على أن من واجب المجتمع الدولي، والسلطات القائمة بالإدارة ومنظومة الأمم المتحدة، وبخاصة اللجنة الخاصة، أن تحقق خاتمة ناجحة لعملية إنهاء الاستعمار.

3. In his report to the General Assembly on the Second International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism (A/65/330), he had recalled that the Assembly had requested the Special Committee to continue to seek suitable means for the immediate and full implementation of the Declaration.
3 - واستطرد قائلا إن الأمين العام، في التقرير الذي قدمه إلى الجمعية العامة، بشأن العقد الدولي الثاني للقضاء على الاستعمار (A/65/330)، قد ذكَّر بأن الجمعية العامة طلبت إلى اللجنة الخاصة مواصلة البحث عن الوسائل المناسبة من أجل التنفيذ الفوري والكامل للإعلان.

73. Those were just a few of the measures necessary to achieve democratization of political life in the Cayman Islands, and the Territory's people deserved no less, in view of the obligations and duties of the United Kingdom, as the administering Power, towards the Cayman Islands, as clearly set out in the report of the Secretary-General on the Second International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism (A/56/61) of 22 March 2001.
73 - وأوضحت أن تلك ليست إلا تدابير قليلة ضرورية لدَمقرطة الحياة السياسية في جزر كايمان، لا يستأهل شعب الإقليم أقل منها، وذلك بالنظر إلى التزامات وواجبات المملكة المتحدة تجاه جزر كايمان، باعتبارها الدولة القائمة بالإدارة، كما نص على ذلك بوضوح تقرير الأمين العام بشأن العقد الدولي الثاني للقضاء على الاستعمار (A/56/61) المؤرخ 22 آذار/مارس 2001.

101. The Southern African Development Community welcomed the report of the Secretary-General on the Second International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism (A/60/71) and agreed that Member States, the administering Powers, the United Nations specialized agencies and programmes and the Special Committee must work together to implement the plan of action for the Second International Decade.
101 - وأردف قائلا إن الجماعة الإنمائية للجنوب الأفريقي ترحب بتقرير الأمين العام بشأن العقد الدولي الثاني للقضاء على الاستعمار (A/60/71) وتوافق على أن على الدول الأعضاء، والسلطات القائمة بالإدارة، والوكالات والبرامج المتخصصة التابعة للأمم المتحدة واللجنة الخاصة أن تعمل معا لتنفيذ خطة العمل للعقد الدولي الثاني.
