وذكر الرئيس أنه بعد المشاورات التي أجراها المجلس أذن له بالإدلاء ببيان باسم المجلس وتلا نص ذلك البيان (للاطلاع على النص انظر S/PRST/2002/18؛ سيصدر في الوثائق الرسمية لمجلس الأمن، السنة السابعة والخمسون، قرارات ومقررات مجلس الأمن، 2002).
