Remote-sensing by satellite was very effective in monitoring the environment, planning sustainable development, exploiting water resources, monitoring crops and predicting and assessing natural disasters.
والاستشعار عن بعد بواسطة السواتل ذو فعالية كبيرة في رصد البيئة، وتخطيط التنمية المستدامة واستغـلال الموارد المائية، ورصد المحاصيل والتنبؤ بالكوارث الطبيعية وتقييمها.

The Committee noted that, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 61/111, the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee had continued its consideration of matters relating to remote sensing of the Earth by satellite.

As another priority item, the Subcommittee once again considered matters relating to remote sensing of the Earth by satellites.
ونظرت اللجنة الفرعية مرة أخرى، على سبيل اﻷولوية، في مسائل تتصل باستشعار اﻷرض من بعد بواسطة السواتل.

satellite-based remote-sensing instruments were appropriate for studying and managing resources in such areas.

The Committee noted that, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 57/116, the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee had continued its consideration of matters relating to remote sensing of the Earth by satellite.

Its present focus was on tele-epidemiology applications by satellite and on the development of SATEX-2, a 50-100-kg experimental microsatellite project that involved Mexican academic institutions, universities and research centres and that was aimed at building Mexican human resource capacity in the field of space technology development.
ويركز حاليًّا على تطبيقات دراسة الأوبئة عن بعد بواسطة السواتل وعلى تطوير مشروع SATEX-2، وهو مشروع ساتل تجريبي صغير يتراوح وزنه بين 50 و100 كغ تشارك فيه مؤسسات أكاديمية وجامعات ومراكز أبحاث مكسيكية، من أجل بناء الموارد البشرية المكسيكية في مجال تطوير تكنولوجيا الفضاء.

86. The view was expressed that an item entitled “Matters relating to the remote sensing of Earth by satellite, including applications for developing countries and monitoring of Earth’s environment”, should be a substantive item of the agenda of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee.
٦٨ - وأعرب عن رأي مفاده أن بندا بعنوان " المسائل المتعلقة باستشعار اﻷرض عن بعد بواسطة السواتل ، بما في ذلك تطبيقاته ، لصالح البلدان النامية ، ورصد بيئة اﻷرض " ينبغي أن يكون بندا فنيا من بنود جدول أعمال اللجنة الرفرعية العلمية والتقنية .

1. Viet Nam has been involved in remote sensing by satellite since 1979, with the implementation of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) project VIE/76/014 by the Ministry of Forests and of UNDP/FAO project VIE/76/011 by the National Centre for Scientific Research of Viet Nam, the predecessor of the National Centre for Natural Sciences and Technology.

satellite-based telecommunications systems are playing an increasing role in the distribution of meteorological data and products to national meteorological services.
