فبعد مشاورات مع الحكومات المعنية، أود أن أبلغ مجلس اﻷمن بعزمي على تعيين الميجور جنرال يوهانس س. كوسترز من هولندا في منصب قائد قوة اﻷمم المتحدة لمراقبة فض الاشتباك.

The General Assembly has taken a positive step in welcoming my intention to strengthen the collaboration of the Organization with all relevant partners, while noting the importance of continued consultations with Member States in this area.

1. 2. On 12 July 2004, I informed the Council of my intention to appoint Juan Gabriel Valdés (Chile) as my Special Representative for Haiti and Head of MINUSTAH (S/2004/565).
