103. " The State of Qatar accepts the text of article 1 of the Convention provided that, in accordance with the provisions of Islamic law and Qatari legislation, the phrase " irrespective of their marital status " is not intended to encourage family relationships outside legitimate marriage.
103- قبلت دولة قطر نص المادة 1 من الاتفاقية بشرط ألا يقصد من عبارة " بغض النظر عن حالتها الزوجية " الواردة في هذه المادة تشجيع العلاقات الأسرية خارج إطار الزواج الشرعي وفقاً لأحكام الشريعة الإسلامية والتشريعات القطرية.

Article 16, paragraph 1(d), of the Convention stipulates that men and women should have the same rights and responsibilities as parents, irrespective of their marital status, in matters relating to their children; in all cases the interests of the children shall be paramount. Irrespective of marital status, Islam gives women custody of young children.
أما فيما يتعلق بنص الفقرة )د( من المادة ١٦ والتي تنص على أن نفس الحقوق والمسؤوليات كوالدة بغض النظر عن حالتها الزوجية في اﻷمور المتعلقة بأطفالها وفي جميع اﻷحوال تكون مصالح اﻷطفال هي الراجحة، فالدين اﻹسلامي قد أعطى المرأة حق الحضانة لﻷم في حالة خلافها مع زوجها طالما هي غير متزوجة.

26. For the purposes of the Convention, the term " discrimination " means, any distinction, exclusion, or restriction made on the basis of sex which has the effect or purpose of impairing or nullifying the recognition, the enjoyment or exercise by women, irrespective of their marital status, on a basis of equality of men and women, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural, civil or any other field.
26 - ويعني مصطلح " التمييز " ، لأغراض الاتفاقية، أي تفرقة أو استبعاد أو تقييد يتم على أساس الجنس ويكون من آثاره أو أغراضه النيل من الاعتراف للمرأة، على أساس تساوي الرجل والمرأة، بحقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية في الميادين السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية والمدنية أو في أي ميدان آخر، أو إبطال الاعتراف للمرأة بهذه الحقوق أو تمتعها بها وممارستها لها بغض النظر عن حالتها الزوجية.

Discrimination against women: distinction, exclusion or restriction made on the basis of sex which has the effect or the purpose of impairing or nullifying the recognition, enjoyment or exercise by women, irrespective of their marital status, on a basis of equality of men and women, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in political, economic, social, cultural, civil or any other field.
