1. Each State Party shall ensure that the following are offences under its criminal law and punishable by appropriate penalties in accordance with their degree of gravity, whether these offences are committed domestically or internationally, or on an individual or organized basis:

21. With regard to article 4 of the Convention, under the terms of paragraph 1 of which each State party undertakes to ensure that all acts of torture are offences under its criminal law, all such acts are, in fact, designated as criminal offences in the Islamic sharia and the Kingdom's regulations, as can be seen from:
21- إن ما تضمنته الفقرة 1 من المادة 4 من الاتفاقية من أن " تضمن كل دولة طرف أن تكون جميع أعمال التعذيب جرائم بموجب قانونها الجنائي " ، فإن جميع أعمال التعذيب مجرمة في الشريعة الإسلامية وأنظمة المملكة، ومنها:

Senegal reported that excision was a criminal offence under its Penal Code, punishable by a term of imprisonment ranging from six months to five years.
وأفادت السنغال بأن الختان يعتبر بموجب قانونها الجنائي فعلا إجراميا يُعاقب عليه بالسجن لفترة تتراوح بين ستة أشهر وخمسة أعوام.

29. States parties to the draft convention will be required to take effective measures to ensure that trafficking in any form is an offence under their criminal law, and that such offences are punishable by penalties appropriate to the grave nature of the offence.
٢٩ - وسيطلب إلى الدول اﻷطراف في مشروع الاتفاقية اتخاذ تدابير فعﱠالة لكفالة اعتبار أي شكل من أشكال الاتجار غير المشروع جريمة بموجب قانونها الجنائي والمعاقبة على ارتكاب تلك الجرائم بعقوبات تتلائم مع طبيعتها الجسيمة.

Article 4 of the Convention demands that each State party shall ensure that all acts of torture are offences under its own criminal law.
وتقتضي المادة ٤ من الاتفاقية أن تكفل كل دولة من الدول اﻷطراف تعريف سائر ضروب التعذيب بوصفها جرائم بموجب قانونها الجنائي الخاص.

The State party states that torture or other cruel acts are criminalised in its Criminal Code (arts. 128 (2) and (3), and art. 394).
وتذكر الدولة الطرف أن التعذيب والأفعال القاسية الأخرى تُعد جريمة بموجب قانونها الجنائي (المادة 128(2) و(3) والمادة 394).
