وفي بنن، اتسم المناخ السياسي بالتوتر أيضا بسبب الصعوبات التقنية ذات الصلة بقائمة الناخبين الإلكترونية، وكذلك بالنظر إلى اعتزام الرئيس الحالي بوني يايي إجراء تعديل دستوري يسمح له بالترشح لولاية ثالثة.

Benin's policy and national strategy document for the protection of children and its five-year programme, which were adopted on 6 and 7 November 2007, reflect the political resolve of the Government of Mr. Boni Yayi to commit itself further to defending the rights of children by respecting the provisions of conventions ratified by Benin.
