In this context, the Group of 77 and China would like to reiterate the importance of strengthening international cooperation in all phases of a catastrophe, ranging from initial relief and mitigation to assistance for development, through a proper use of multilateral channels and the provision of adequate resources.

١٤ - تؤكد مجددا أهمية تحقيق أهداف عقد اﻷمم المتحدة لمكافحة إساءة استعمال المخدرات، ١٩٩١-٢٠٠٠، في إطار موضوع " تصد عالمي لتحد عالمي " ، تقوم به الدول اﻷعضاء، وبرنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للمراقبة الدولية للمخدرات ومنظومة اﻷمم المتحدة؛

9. reaffirms the importance of ensuring universality, objectivity and non—selectivity in the consideration of human rights issues, and requests the High Commissioner to continue ensuring that the fulfilment of her mandate and that of the Office is guided by these principles;
٩- تؤكد مجددا أهمية ضمان الطابع العالمي والموضوعية واللاانتقائية في النظر في قضايا حقوق اﻹنسان، وتطلب من المفوضة السامية أن تواصل الاسترشاد بهذه المبادئ في الاضطلاع بولايتها وبولاية المكتب؛

4. reaffirms the importance of also including the Committee as an essential mechanism within the framework of the international machinery to be entrusted with the task of monitoring and periodically reviewing the implementation of the platform for action.
٤- تؤكد مجددا أهمية أن يتم أيضا إدراج اللجنة بوصفها آلية جوهرية في إطار اﻵلية الدولية التي ستكلف بمهمة رصد تنفيذ منهاج العمل واستعراضه دوريا.

I. Cooperation with regional arrangements 182. Bearing in mind the primacy of the United Nations in the maintenance of international peace and security, the Special Committee reaffirms the important contribution that regional arrangements and agencies can make to peacekeeping, in accordance with Chapter VIII of the Charter of the United Nations, where appropriate, and when the mandate and capacity of regional arrangements or agencies allow.
182 - إن اللجنة الخاصة، إذ تأخذ في الاعتبار زعامة الأمم المتحدة في مجال صون السلام والأمن الدوليين، فإنها تؤكد مجددا أهمية الإسهام الذي يمكن أن تقدمه الترتيبات الإقليمية والوكالات في مجال حفظ السلام، وفقا للفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، حسب الاقتضاء، وحينما تسمح بذلك ولايات تلك الترتيبات الإقليمية أو الوكالات وقدراتها.

It also wished to reiterate the importance of the priority thematic areas, cross-cutting approaches and regional dimensions contained in the Statement, particularly in the context of poverty reduction through productive activities, employment and income generation, and environmental issues.
كما تود أن تؤكد مجددا أهمية المجالات المواضيعية ذات الأولوية والنُهُج المشتركة والأبعاد الإقليمية الواردة في البيان، ولا سيما في سياق الحد من الفقر من خلال الأنشطة الإنتاجية، والتشغيل وتوليد الدخل، والمسائل البيئية.
