Serbia renders an important contribution to conventional arms control at the subregional level through its active participation in the Agreement on Subregional Arms Control.

The most intensive cooperation regarding arms control at the regional level is in compliance with the Agreement on Sub-Regional Arms Control stemming from annex 1B, article IV, of the Dayton Peace Agreement for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Croatia has already fulfilled its obligations under Annex 1-B of Article IV of the Dayton Peace Agreement on Sub-Regional Arms Control, and Croatia regularly fulfils its obligations in regard to Vienna Document-94 on reporting to the OSCE on military holdings.

The implementation of the provisions of the Agreement on Subregional Arms Control has proved itself as an effective instrument for achieving a balanced and stable level of defence forces with the lowest quantities of weapons needed for the defence of the Parties as an essential element for establishing peace and security, as well as for confidence-building.
وقد جاء تنفيذ أحكام الاتفاق بشأن تحديد الأسلحة على الصعيد دون الإقليمي ليثبت أنه وسيلة فعالة للتوصل إلى مستوى متوازن ومستقر لقوات الدفاع المزودة بالحد الأدنى من كميات الأسلحة اللازمة لدفاع الأطراف باعتبار ذلك عنصرا أساسيا لإقرار السلام والأمن فضلا عن بناء الثقة.

Considering that the said principles underline the existing Agreement on Subregional Arms Control, it is to be expected that they will be included in all future agreements on Subregional Arms Control.
وباعتبار أن المبادئ سابقة الذكر تؤكد الاتفاق القائم بشأن تحديد الأسلحة على الصعيد دون الإقليمي، فمن المتوقع أن يتم إدراجها ضمن جميع الاتفاقات التي تبرم مستقبلا عن تحديد الأسلحة على الصعيد دون الإقليمي.

The Agreement on Subregional Arms Control establishes new forms of cooperation in the field of security aimed at building transparency and confidence and achieving balanced and stable defence force levels at the lowest numbers consistent with the parties' respective security and the need to avoid an arms race in the region.
وينشئ اتفاق تحديد الأسلحة على الصعيد دون الإقليمي أشكالا جديدة للتعاون في مجال الأمن ترمي إلى بناء الشفافية والثقة وتحقيق مستويات متوازنة ومستقرة للقوة الدفاعية بأقل أعداد بما يتوافق مع أمن كل طرف من الأطراف وضرورة تجنب سباق التسلح في المنطقة.

As one of the five parties to the Agreement on Subregional Arms Control -- article IV, annex 1 B of the Dayton Agreement -- Serbia and Montenegro consistently implements the provisions of the Agreement, destroys surplus weapon stockpiles and directs its efforts towards fulfilling the requirements for full-fledged membership in Euro-Atlantic integration.

Since 2007, Montenegro has been a full member of the Agreement on Subregional Arms Control, under which the stockpiling and use of the following conventional arms are restricted: combat tanks, artillery with angled trajectory above 75 mm, armoured cars, combat helicopters and combat aircrafts, all according to the article IV of General Peace Agreement in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Guided by the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Annex 1-B, Agreement on Regional Stabilization, article IV, signed in Paris on 14 December 1995, Bosnia and Herzegovina signed the Agreement on Subregional Arms Control in Vienna on 4 January 1996.
وقعت البوسنة والهرسك اتفاق تحديد الأسلحة على الصعيد دون الإقليمي في فيينا في 4 كانون الثاني/يناير 1996 مسترشِدة بالمادة الرابعة من المرفق 1 - باء، اتفاق تحقيق الاستقرار الإقليمي، من الاتفاق الإطاري العام للسلام في البوسنة والهرسك الموقع في باريس في 14 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1995.

Under the Final Document on the Negotiations Related to Article IV, Annex 1-B, of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Agreement on Subregional Arms Control), Serbia accepts each year the specified number of inspections of the parties to the Agreement, as well as the arms reduction inspections.

The Agreement on Sub-Regional Arms Control was made on 14 June 1996 and was signed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Srpska, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Croatia and Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
