As Chairman of the Group of Governmental Experts who had undertaken the study and on behalf of his delegation, he expressed the hope that the draft resolution would be adopted without a vote.

The Group took note of the " Guidelines for appropriate types of confidence-building measures and for the implementation of such measures on a global or regional level " , as contained in the " Study on the application of confidence-building measures in outer space " (A/48/305 and Corr.1, annex, appendix II).
