III. Assessment of current regional coordination arrangements

regional coordination arrangements are in place in Annexes I, II and III. Hence, this section focuses on the work carried out in these regions.

The newly introduced results-based management approach to the Convention provides practical tools for monitoring and periodic evaluation of the regional coordination arrangements.

3. The review of current regional coordination arrangements and the evidence-based options are contained in the present document for consideration and any action the COP may wish to take in this regard.
3- ويرد استعراض ترتيبات التنسيق الإقليمي الحالية والخيارات المدعومة بأدلة في هذه الوثيقة لكي ينظر فيها مؤتمر الأطراف ويتخذ بشأنها أي إجراء يرغب في اتخاذه في هذا الصدد.

(b) To develop evidence-based options for improving regional coordination arrangements based on the above-mentioned review and the proposals received from regions according to paragraph 30;

Taking note of document ICCD/COP(9)/3 entitled " Evidence-based options for improving regional coordination arrangements " , prepared by the secretariat in consultation with the GM,
وإذ يحيط علماً بالوثيقة ICCD/COP(9)/3 المعنونة " خيارات مستندة إلى أدلة من أجل تحسين ترتيبات التنسيق الإقليمي " ، التي أعدتها الأمانة بالتشاور مع الآلية العالمية،

To develop evidence-based options for improving regional coordination arrangements based on the above-mentioned review and the proposals received from regions (...);
(ب) وضع خيارات مدعومة بأدلة لتحسين ترتيبات التنسيق الإقليمي بالاستناد إلى الاستعراض المذكور أعلاه والمقترحات الواردة من المناطق (...)؛

This document contains both the review of current regional coordination arrangements within the secretariat and the GM and evidence-based options for improving regional coordination arrangements developed by the secretariat taking into account the views of the GM on its regional arrangements.
2- تتضمن هذه الوثيقة كلاً من استعراض ترتيبات التنسيق الإقليمي الحالية في إطار الأمانة والآلية العالمية والخيارات المدعومة بأدلة لتحسين ترتيبات التنسيق الإقليمي التي أعدتها الأمانة مع مراعاة آراء الآلية العالمية بشأن ترتيباتها الإقليمية.

2. Decision 3/COP.8 also requests the Executive Secretary, taking into account the views of the GM on its regional arrangements, to review the current regional coordination arrangements within both the secretariat and the GM with a view to improving them, and to develop evidence-based options for improving regional coordination arrangements and submit these to COP 9 for consideration.
2- كما يطلب المقرر 3/م أ-8 إلى الأمين التنفيذي أن يستعرض، مع مراعاة آراء الآلية العالمية بشأن ترتيباتها الإقليمية، ترتيبات التنسيق الإقليمي الحالية في إطار كل من الأمانة والآلية العالمية بغية تحسينها وأن يضع خيارات مدعومة بأدلة لتحسين ترتيبات التنسيق الإقليمي وأن يقدمها إلى مؤتمر الأطراف في دورته التاسعة من أجل النظر فيها.
