Iran presented evidence to show that the oil spills created oil slicks in an extended area of the Persian Gulf and that the oil well fires in Kuwait resulted in the deposition of particulates over extended areas of land and sea. Iran also presented an analysis of satellite images used to track the oil spills and contaminants from the oil well fires moving from Kuwait to Iran.

أما حوادث النقل البري أو الجوي فهي ذات آثار طفيفة، واحتمال حدوث تسربات النفط في البيئة البحرية ضئيل إلا أن تلك التسربات تشكل خطرا بيئيا أكبر حجما مما تشكله تسربات النفط في البر)٦٧(.
