Summing up, the Chairman said delegations had encouraged UNHCR to promote accessions to the statelessness Conventions. They had also encouraged further research on the scope of the problem of statelessness and continued analysis of new nationality legislation, as well as the provision of technical advice to concerned Governments.
ولخص الرئيس الموضوع قائلا إن الوفود شجعت المفوضية على الدعوة إلى الانضمام إلى اتفاقيتي انعدام الجنسية، كما شجعت على إجراء مزيد من اﻷبحاث عن نطاق مشكلة انعدام الجنسية، ومواصلة تحليل تشريعات الجنسية الجديدة، فضلا عن تقديم المشورة التقنية للحكومات المعنية.

Women continue to be more likely than men to seek to change their nationality to that of their foreign spouse upon marriage to a foreigner and are therefore at greater risk of statelessness if there is a gap in nationality legislation that allows or requires them to renounce their nationality without having acquired or received assurances that they will acquire the nationality of the spouse.
وما زال من المرجح أن تكون المرأة أكثر من الرجل ميلا إلى تغيير جنسيتها لدى الزواج بأجنبي إلى جنسية الزوج الأجنبي، ولذا فهي أكثر عُرضة لخطر انعدام الجنسية حال وجود ثغرة في تشريعات الجنسية تتيح لها أو تستلزم منها التخلي عن جنسيتها الأصلية دون اكتساب جنسية الزوج أو تلقي تأكيدات باكتسابها.

Regarding paragraph 4 of resolution 2005/45, contributions to the drafting of relevant international instruments and provision of technical and advisory services to States that are adopting or amending nationality legislation are among the Office's key activities related to the prevention of statelessness.
وفيما يتعلق بالفقرة 4 من القرار 2005/45، فإن الإسهام في صياغة الصكوك الدولية ذات الصلة وتوفير الخدمات التقنية والاستشارية للدول التي تعتمد أو تعدل تشريعات الجنسية هي من بين الأنشطة الأساسية التي تضطلع بها المفوضية في مجال منع حالات عديمي الجنسية.

100. UNHCR, while welcoming the pledge made by the Congo in 2011, recommended measures to identify and protect the rights of stateless persons and to reform nationality legislation.
100- وفي حين رحبت مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين بالتعهد الذي قدمه الكونغو في عام 2011، أوصت باتخاذ تدابير لتحديد وحماية حقوق الأشخاص عديمي الجنسية وتعديل تشريعات الجنسية(178).

72. nationality legislation under Mobutu, which left thousands of individuals of Rwandan origin stateless and in part caused the rebellion that overthrew him, has not been improved by the new provisions of Decree-Law No. 197 of 29 January 1999, which reiterates the exclusivity of Congolese nationality (art. 1).
72- إن تشريعات الجنسية التي سُنت في عهد موبوتو، والتي تركت آلاف الأفراد من أصل رواندي أناساً عديمي الجنسية وكانت من أسباب التمرد الذي أطاح به، لم تتحسن بالأحكام الجديدة في مرسوم القانون رقم 197 المؤرخ 29 كانون الثاني/يناير 1999 الذي يؤكد الطابع الحصري للجنسية الكونغولية (المادة 1).

It should be noted that the Bahraini legislator observes patrilineal jus sanguinis, i.e., a child acquires Bahraini nationality merely upon being born to a father with Bahraini nationality. This situation is consistent with most Arab nationality legislation in Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Syria, and other countries. It is also consistent with foreign nationality laws in certain other countries.
163 - يلاحظ إذاً بأن المشرع البحريني قد اعتد بحق الدم من جهة الأب، أي يكتسب الطفل الجنسية البحرينية لمجرد ولادته لأب بحريني الجنسية، وهذا الموقف يتماشى مع ما جاء في غالبية تشريعات الجنسية العربية في الكويت والمملكة العربية السعودية وقطر و الإمارات العربية المتحدة والأردن وسورية وغيرها من الدول، كما يتماشى مع بعض تشريعات الجنسية الأجنبية.
