The proportion of countries reporting low coverage for school-based interventions focusing both on information and education and on life skills development has increased since 2002.

51. In the biennial reports questionnaire, States are requested to supply information about some of the most basic kinds of intervention focusing on drug abuse prevention, namely interventions (a) providing information and education about drugs and drug abuse, (b) focusing on life skills development and (c) providing alternatives to drug abuse.
