50. The Committee notes that the United Kingdom and China agreed in the Joint Declaration and Exchange of Memoranda of 19 December 1984 that the provisions of the Covenant as applied to Hong Kong shall remain in force after 1 July 1997.
٥٠ - تلاحظ اللجنة أن المملكة المتحدة والصين قد اتفقتا في اﻹعلان المشترك وفي تبادل المذكرات المؤرخين ٩١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ٤٨٩١ على أن تظل أحكام العهد التي تنطبق على هونغ كونغ نافذة بعد ١ تموز/يوليه ٧٩٩١.

By paragraph 1 of resolution 1111 (1997), the Council decided that the provisions of resolution 986 (1995), except those contained in paragraphs 4, 11 and 12, should remain in force for another period of 180 days beginning at 00.01 hours, Eastern Daylight Time, on 8 June 1997.
