Subject to the provisions of guideline 5.1.6, a reservation considered as being maintained in conformity with guideline 5.1.1, paragraph 1, or guideline 5.1.2, paragraph 1 or 3, shall retain the territorial scope that it had at the date of the succession of States, unless the successor State expresses a contrary intention.
رهناً بأحكام المبدأ التوجيهي 5-1-6، يظل التحفظ الذي أبقي عليه بموجب الفقرة 1 من المبدأ التوجيهي 5-1-1 أو الفقرة 1 أو 3 من المبدأ التوجيهي 5-1-2 محتفظاً بالنطاق الإقليمي الذي كان له في تاريخ خلافة الدول، ما لم تعرب الدولة الخلف عن نقيض هذا القصد.

The presumption is reversed not only if a " contrary intention " is specifically expressed by the successor State when making the notification of succession, but also if that State formulates a reservation " which relates to the same subject matter " as the reservation formulated by the predecessor State.
فهو ينتفي ليس فقط عندما تعرب الدولة الخلف عند الإشعار بخلافتها عن " نقيض هذا القصد " على وجه التحديد، بل كذلك عندما تصوغ هذه الدولة تحفظاً " يتناول نفس المسألة " التي كانت محل تحفظ الدولة السلف.
