18.83 During the biennium 2010-2011, projected extrabudgetary resources of $5,700,000 will provide valuable, practical, on-the-ground experience which will feed into the core normative and analytical work of the subprogramme, in response to Commission resolution 62/10, on strengthening statistical capacity in Asia and the Pacific.

The two regional commissions have also proposed two specific projects under the fifth tranche of the Development Account aimed at: (a) strengthening the statistical capacity in Central Asia to support indicators for the monitoring of progress towards the Millennium Development Goals; and (b) capacity-building for integrated trade information management and trade facilitation in Central Asia.
