Noting that the Secretary-General’s preliminary estimate of resources for the biennium 2000–2001 did not contain provisions for special missions funded in the current budget and not mandated for the next budget biennium, he said that the European Union believed, as a general principle, that there should be a provision for special missions in the budget outline.

VIII.22. As shown in table 27B.1 of the proposed programme budget for the biennium 1998-1999, the Secretary-General's estimate for section 27B for 1998-1999 amounts to $19,425,200 before recosting, a decrease of $730,900 against the 1996-1997 appropriations.
ثامنا - ٢٢ كمـا هو مبيـن فـي الجدول ٢٧ باء - ١ فــي الميزانية البرنامجية المقترحة لفترة السنتين ١٩٩٨ - ١٩٩٩، يصل تقدير اﻷمين العام للباب ٢٧ باء للفترة ١٩٩٨ - ١٩٩٩، إلى ٢٠٠ ٤٢٥ ١٩ دولار، قبل إعادة تقدير التكاليف، بانخفاض يبلغ ٩٠٠ ٧٣٠ دولار مقارنة باعتمادات الفترة ١٩٩٦-١٩٩٧.
