15. Also invites the Chairperson of the fiftyfifth session of the SubCommission to report to the Commission at its sixtieth session, including an assessment of how recent enhancements of the effectiveness of the SubCommission and of its mechanisms have worked in practice;

It further requested the Executive Secretary to report to the Commission, in 2000, on the observance of the International Year of Older Persons and on progress made in the implementation of the plan of action on ageing for Asia and the Pacific.
