237. On 28 February, it was reported that the annual human rights report of the United States State Department had stated that both Israel’s and the Palestinian Authority’s security forces had committed “serious human rights abuses” in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The 1994 human rights report issued by the United States State Department, for instance, states that " in the Greek Cypriot community there were instances of police brutality, including beating and expulsion of Turkish Cypriots by Greek Cypriot police " .
