56. By its resolution 60/226, the General Assembly requested me to establish a group of governmental experts to assist in preparing a report on the continuing operation and further development of the Register, to be submitted to the Assembly at its sixty-first session.
56 - وفي القرار 60/226، طلبت الجمعيةُ العامة إلىَّ إنشاء فريق من الخبراء الحكوميين للمساعدة في إعداد تقرير عن مواصلة تشغيل السجل وزيادة تطويره يقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الحادية والستين.

7. In accordance with General Assembly resolutions 46/36 L, 47/52 L and 48/75 E of 16 December 1993, the 1994 Group of Governmental Experts was established to report on the continuing operation of the Register and its further development.

8. In accordance with General Assembly resolution 51/45 H of 10 December 1996, entitled " Transparency in armaments " , the 1997 Group of Governmental Experts was established to prepare a report on the continuing operation of the Register and its further development, with a view to a decision at the fifty-second session of the Assembly.

8. The 1997 Group of Governmental Experts was established to prepare a report on the continuing operation of the Register and its further development.6 The General Assembly took note of the report7 of the Group8 and endorsed the recommendations contained therein.
8 - أنشئ فريق الخبراء الحكوميين لسنة 1997 لإعداد تقرير عن مواصلة تشغيل السجل وزيادة تطويره(). وأحاطت الجمعية العامة علما() بتقرير الفريق() وأقرت ما جاء فيه من توصيات.

2. As indicated in paragraph 2 of the statement by the Secretary-General, operative paragraphs 4 (b), 5 and 8 of the draft resolution concern the preparation of a report on the continuing operation of the United Nations Register of Conventional Arms and its further development.
2 - وحسب ما هو مبين في الفقرة 2 من بيان الأمين العام، فإن الفقرات 4 (ب) و 5 و 8 من منطوق مشروع القرار تتعلق بإعداد تقرير عن مواصلة تشغيل سجل الأمم المتحدة للأسلحة التقليدية وزيادة تطويره.

11. The General Assembly, in its resolution 66/39, requested the Secretary-General, with the assistance of a group of governmental experts to be convened in 2012, to prepare a report on the continuing operation of the Register and its further development, taking into account the views expressed by Member States and the reports of the Secretary-General on the issue.
11 - في القرار 66/39، طلبت الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يقوم، بمساعدة من فريق من الخبراء الحكوميين يدعى للانعقاد في عام 2012، بإعداد تقرير عن مواصلة تشغيل السجل وزيادة تطويره، آخذا في اعتباره الآراء التي تعرب عنها الدول الأعضاء وتقارير الأمين العام بشأن المسألة.

We believe that it is premature and ambitious at this point for the General Assembly to request the Secretary-General to prepare a report on the continuing operation of the United Nations Register of Conventional Arms and its further development, with the assistance of a group of governmental experts to be convened in 2003, as called for in paragraph 4 (b).
