In response to this growing interest, the Governments of the Netherlands and Switzerland organized an international workshop of experts, with the objective of elaborating guidelines on strategy and methodology for national technology needs assessments.

43. The SBSTA noted that the results of TNAs provide a good basis for accelerating the implementation of adaptation and mitigation actions.

Some Parties, such as the Cook Islands, Guyana and Kuwait, have commented on the usefulness of undertaking TNAs to identify and prioritize technologies, including related practices and policy plans that can match specific needs at the national level.

44. The SBSTA acknowledged the possible interlinkages between TNAs and other climate- and development-related domestic processes, such as those involving nationally appropriate mitigation actions and national adaptation plans.

87- وطلبت الهيئة الفرعية من الفريق أن يواصل النظر في المسائل المتصلة بنشر ونقل تكنولوجيات الطاقة المتقدمة والأقل تلويثاً والأكثر كفاءة والميسورة الثمن والفعالة من حيث التكلفة، بما فيها أنواع الوقود الأحفوري وتكنولوجيات الطاقة المتجددة، مع مراعاة نتائج تقييمات الاحتياجات التكنولوجية.

Promote and support the development and transfer of innovative climate-friendly technologies including through the formulation and sharing of national technology action plans, that should be integrated into national adaptation and mitigation plans, and where appropriate, build on and include technology needs assessments as established by decision 4/CP.7;
(ﻫ) تشجيع ودعم تطوير التكنولوجيات المبتكرة غير الضارة بالمناخ، بوسائل منها صياغة وتقاسم خطط عمل وطنية في مجال التكنولوجيا، لإدماجها في الخطط الوطنية للتكيف والتخفيف. والعمل، عند الاقتضاء، على الاستفادة من تقييمات الاحتياجات التكنولوجية التي وضعت بموجب المقرر 4/م أ-7 وإدراج هذه التقييمات؛

(g) " technology needs assessments " means the technology needs assessments conducted under the framework for meaningful and effective actions to enhance the implementation of Article 4, paragraph 5, of the Convention adopted by decision 4/CP.7 and enhanced by decision 3/CP.13;
(ز) يُقصد ب " تقييمات الاحتياجات التكنولوجية " عمليات تقييم الاحتياجات التكنولوجية التي تُجرى ضمن إطار الإجراءات الهادفة والفعالة الذي اعتُمد بموجب المقرر 4/م أ-7 وعُزز بموجب المقرر 3/م أ-13 لتوطيد تنفيذ الفقرة 5 من المادة 4 من الاتفاقية؛

The SBSTA noted its conclusions at its twenty-first session and encouraged the EGTT to continue to consider issues relating to diffusion and transfer of advanced, cleaner, and more efficient, affordable and cost-effective energy technologies, including fossil fuel and renewable energy technologies, taking into account the outcomes of the technology needs assessments.
