While the formula for the funding of the support account should cover the real resource requirements, it should reflect the temporary character of the backstopping activities. They therefore supported the proposal made by the Advisory Committee in paragraph 37 of its report.

Ms. Casar (Controller) said that it was inaccurate to state that the funding of the support account had increased steadily, as was evident from table in the Secretary-General's report on the support account (A/67/756) showing the overview of financial and human resources for peacekeeping operations from 2008 to 2013.
