18 - تؤيد اقتراح الأمين العام استعراض تنفيذ استراتيجية يوكوهاما من أجل عالم أكثر أمانا: مبادئ توجيهية لاتقاء الكوارث الطبيعية والتأهب لها وتخفيف حدتها وخطة عملها(3) ضمن إطار العمل لتنفيذ الاستراتيجية؛

During the past year, motivated by the review of the implementation of the Yokohama Strategy and its Plan of Action1 and the preparations for the World Conference on Disaster Reduction, the Inter-Agency Task Force on Disaster Reduction and the Strategy secretariat have increasingly served as a reference centre and information clearing house on disaster risk reduction issues, involving Governments and expert organizations.
فخلال العام الماضي، ظلت فرقة العمل المشتركة بين الوكالات المعنية بمسألة الحد من الكوارث وأمانة الاستراتيجية الدولية للحد من الكوارث تتحولان إلى مركزين لتبادل المعلومات والمراجع حول مسائل الحد من الأخطار، وشارك في ذلك الحكومات والمنظمات الخبيرة، وكان دافعهما إلى ذلك عملية استعراض تنفيذ استراتيجية يوكوهاما وخطة عملها(1) وعمليات التحضير للمؤتمر العالمي للحد من الكوارث الطبيعية.

10. The process conducted in response to the request of the General Assembly in its resolution 57/256, to review progress in implementing the Yokohama Strategy and its Plan of Action, has resulted in a number of activities (described above in section A) and in a substantive basis for the deliberations and commitments of the Conference.
10 - أسفرت العملية التي أجريت استجابة للطلب الذي وجهته الجمعية العامة في قرارها 57/256 باستعراض التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ استراتيجية يوكوهاما وخطة عملها عن عدد من الأنشطة (يرد وصفها أعلاه في الفرع ألف) وأساس موضوعي لمداولات والتزامات المؤتمر.
