The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice was encouraged to complete the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners, in accordance with existing mandates.

:: The Commission should extend the mandate of the Open-ended Inter-governmental Expert Group to enable more detailed discussion on the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules.

In the category of revisions, the Model Strategies and Practical Measures on the Elimination of Violence against Women in the Field of Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice was updated in 2010, and the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners was ongoing in 2011.

The Expert Group identified for consideration the following issues and rules for the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners:

The Expert Group identified for consideration the following issues and rules for the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners.
7- وحدَّد فريق الخبراء ما يلي من المسائل والقواعد لكي يُنظر فيها في إطار عملية تنقيح القواعد النموذجية الدنيا لمعاملة السجناء:

During the reporting period, UNODC supported important normative developments in the areas of crime prevention and criminal justice reform: the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners and the development of model strategies and practical measures for the elimination of violence against children in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice.
74- أثناء الفترة المشمولة بهذا التقرير، دعم المكتب تطوُّرين معياريين مُهمَّين في مجاليْ منع الجريمة وإصلاح نُظُم العدالة الجنائية، هما: تنقيح القواعد النموذجية الدنيا لمعاملة السجناء وصوغ استراتيجيات وتدابير عملية نموذجية للقضاء على العنف ضد الأطفال في سياق منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية.

16. Mr. Valoni (Argentina) reiterated his Government's support for the Special Rapporteur's mandate and welcomed his report's emphasis on the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners.
16 - السيد بالوني (الأرجنتين): أكد من جديد دعم حكومته لولاية المقرر الخاص ورحب بتركيز تقريره على تنقيح القواعد النموذجية الدنيا لمعاملة السجناء.

6. Requests Member States to complete the process of revision of the Standard Minimum Rules for the treatment of prisoners, as mandated by the General Assembly in its resolution 65/230 of 21 December 2010, and to strengthen penal reform efforts to address the widespread and critical issue of prison overcrowding;
6 - تطلب إلى الدول الأعضاء أن تنجز عملية تنقيح القواعد النموذجية الدنيا لمعاملة السجناء وفق ما قررته الجمعية العامة في قرارها 65/230 المؤرخ 21 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2010، وأن تكثف جهود الإصلاح الجنائي لمعالجة مشكلة اكتظاظ السجون المنتشرة على نطاق واسع والبالغة الخطورة؛

In resolution 2012/13, the Economic and Social Council extended the mandate of the Expert Group and invited Member States to submit proposals for revision of the Standard Minimum Rules in the nine areas identified for the next meeting of the Expert Group, which would take place in Brazil in January 2014.
وفي القرار 2012/13، مدّد المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي ولاية فريق الخبراء ودعا الدول الأعضاء إلى تقديم مقترحات تتناول تنقيح القواعد النموذجية الدنيا لمعاملة السجناء في المجالات التسعة المحددة للاجتماع القادم لفريق الخبراء، المزمع عقده في البرازيل في كانون الثاني/يناير 2014.

(c) The Commission should consider affirming that the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules is a time-intensive exercise of crucial importance and that a suitable time frame would be helpful in achieving an outcome of suitable quality;
(ج) ينبغي للجنة أنْ تنظر في تأكيد أنَّ تنقيح القواعد النموذجية الدنيا لمعاملة السجناء عملية تستغرق وقتاً طويلاً وتتَّسم بأهمية حاسمة، وأنَّ من شأن تحديد إطار زمني مناسب أنْ يساعد في الوصول إلى نتيجة على المستوى المطلوب؛

The Expert Group welcomed the 50 contributions received from 41 Member States and one non-Member State with permanent observer status with the United Nations on the continued exchange of best practices as well as on the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules (see para. 29 above).
