In that connection, he drew attention to the fifth and ninth paragraphs of section II.A of the agreed conclusions, which read as follows:

In section II A, paragraph 8, of the same resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report on the utilization of conference facilities and services at the United Nations Office at Nairobi for consideration at its fifty-seventh session, through the Committee on Conferences.

In section II A, paragraph 21, of its resolution 57/283 B, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to continue to explore all possible options to increase further the utilization of the conference centre at the Economic Commission for Africa and to report thereon at its fifty-eighth session, through the Committee on Conferences.

In section II A, paragraph 20, of its resolution 57/283 B, the General Assembly encouraged the Committee on Conferences to keep under continued review the procedures for the participation of observers in the work of the Committee.

As he understood it, in the last part of the last sentence of section II A, paragraph 6, it was assumed that nuclear accidents would continue to occur, which was inadmissible; accordingly, he proposed that the sentence should end with the words " international cooperation " and that all the remainder should be deleted.
وأضاف قائلا إن الجزء الأخير من الجملة الأخيرة من الفقرة 6 من الجزء ثانيا ألف يفترض، على حد فهمه، أن الحوادث النووية سوف تستمر في الوقوع، وهذا ما لا يمكن قبوله؛ وعليه، اقترح إنهاء الجملة بعبارة " التعاون الدولي " وحذف الجزء المتبقي.

31. Mr. Akopov (Belarus) said he welcomed the fact that the proposal of the three delegations affected by the Chernobyl accident had been reflected in section II A, paragraph 6, and supported the position of the delegation of Ukraine regarding the proposal by Japan.
