30.8 Implementing section II of resolution 55/238 in 2001 requires, as an interim measure, that the 32 new posts approved by the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session as from 1 January 2001 be charged directly and in their entirety against section 30.

As there were no provisions for the 135 posts in the approved budget for the biennium 2010-2011, the Tribunal extended the 135 abolished posts for the performance of functions essentially required from January 2010 from within available resources, in line with paragraph 5 of General Assembly resolution 63/256 and paragraphs 3, 5 and 6 of section II of resolution 64/239, pending consideration by the Assembly of the required resources.

Views were also expressed that the United Nations Office at Nairobi should continue to intensify its efforts to facilitate the holding of all meetings of the Nairobi-based bodies in Nairobi, as directed in paragraphs 9 to 11 of section II of resolution 57/283 B, except as otherwise expressly authorized by the General Assembly or the Committee on Conferences acting on behalf of the General Assembly.
