The Committee urges the State party to adopt appropriate measures, including legislative measures, as well as a comprehensive strategy to combat discrimination on any grounds and against all vulnerable groups of children including through public educational campaigns aiming at changing negative social attitudes in this regard.

616. In accordance with article 2 of the Convention, the Committee recommends that the State party increase its efforts to adopt a proactive and comprehensive strategy to eliminate discrimination on any grounds against all vulnerable groups throughout the country.

The European Region of the International Lesbian and Gay Association commended Cyprus for accepting the recommendation to strengthen existing non-discrimination legislation and to take all necessary measures to prevent discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, as well as for the law preventing discrimination of all vulnerable groups.
